Safeway total spent was $20.12. I purchased 4 boxes of Rice Chex, 4 jars of Classico pasta sauce, french bread, 1 pkg, of Sargento cheese, and 4 apples. I had coupons on the Rice Chex and Classico Pasta. And I also got a coupon at checkout for $1.00 off my next shopping trip. I saved 45% off my total.
Total spent this week was $26.66. Pretty small week!! But we have a lot of food in the deep freezer, so we didn't need much.

A Car For Christmas...

Danny had recently passed his driving test and decided to ask his clergyman father if there was any chance of him getting a car for Christmas, which was yet some months away. ‘Okay.’ said his father ‘I tell you what I’ll do. If you can get your ‘A’ level grades up to ‘A’s and ‘B’s, study your bible and get your hair cut, I’ll consider the matter very seriously.’
A couple of months later Danny went back to his father who said ‘I’m really impressed by your commitment to your studies. Your grades are excellent and the work you have put into your bible studies is very encouraging. However, I have to say I’m very disappointed that you haven’t had your hair cut yet.
Danny was a smart young man who was never lost for an answer. ‘Look dad. In the course of my bible studies I’ve noticed in the illustrations that Moses, John the Baptist, Samson and even Jesus had long hair.’ ‘Yes. I’m aware of that…’ replied his father ‘… but did you also notice they walked wherever they went?’

Thankful Thanksgiving Count Down: Day 7
Freedom is the oxygen of the soul. ~Moshe Dayan
On this Thanksgiving Eve, I have been thinking about military families. Families that won't be together for the holidays. Men and woman separated by thousands of miles, in foreign lands, missing their loved ones. Making sacrifices on the holidays and everyday for my freedom.
Precious is our freedom. Freedom that I (sadly) have taken for granted from time to time. As Americans, we have lots of freedom. Like freedom to express our thoughts, freedom to share our faith, and freedom of choice. Being born an American, I probably will never be able to full understand and appreciate the blessing of my countries freedom.
So, today, I thank and honor those who sacrifice their holidays, their families, their lives for my freedom. I am thankful for the United States of America. I am thankful for my faith. And I am thankful that I can share my thoughts with you.
Freedom...what a priceless gift.

Thankful Thanksgiving Count Down: Day 6
When you know better, you do better...thank goodness!!
Have you ever taken the time to reflect on your past and how you were living your life 2 years ago, 5 years ago, maybe even 10 years ago? Did you ever say to yourself, "I would love to go back in time and tell myself _________ "(fill in the blank). Spend less, save more, study harder, don't date that guy, take that trip, etc. That's because you have gone through some life experiences and gained some knowledge... you learned from your mistakes and now you are equipped with more wisdom.
I know that if I could go back, one of the things I would tell myself is to not be so wasteful with my money at the grocery store!! I used to easily blow $125 on groceries a week and then bring it all home and tell my husband that we have nothing to eat! So, we would then go out to eat!! Ouch!! What a waste!
I am so thankful for the wisdom I have learned. Some life lessons were harder to learn then others, but hence all were necessary to make me who I am today. I know that I am not perfect, but I am thankful for the wisdom I have learned thus far. I am thankful for who I am today. And I know that the future is only going to make me wiser! Bring it on...

Thankful Thanksgiving Count Down: Day 5
I am going to share a secret with you....it's not a big secret...just something that few people know about me. Alright, here it goes...for the last couple of months I have been training to run a 5k on Thanksgiving Day. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not run. I have never been a runner and every time I have ever tried to take up running, I have quit. (Head down in shame.)
But, this time is different. I set goal and this time I am doing it for me and my health. Not to look cool with my college friends, not to be that pretty skinny lady on the treadmill at the gym that you loath, and not to do just to brag (well, maybe a little). But all honesty, I am doing to to take care of me.
I feel good about myself when I run. I feel like I did something good for my body. And in turn I did something good for my family. Who knows? Maybe by running I have added 5 years to my health. That's five more years of birthdays. Five more years of laughter. Five more years of beautiful experiences. Why not run, there's to much to loose if I don't!
Our health is a precious gift and blessing. I know that there are people to sick to run even if they wanted to. And here I have two perfectly (will be slender) working legs. Do I sit on the couch and just let them go to waste???? No buddy...I am going to use what the good Lord gave me and be thankful....
So today I run because I am thankful for my good health and I want to keep it that way!!

Dear Santa....
Dear Santa,
I have been really good this year, really. And I know just the perfect gift to give me to reward my good behavior!
You see, I have been working hard on building my dining room table. I almost have it finished and it's looking pretty good! But, the thing is...I need some chairs to go with it. And since you are such a busy guy this time of year, I thought I would pick them out for you, to save you time of course!
There they are....these chairs would look great with my new table. And since I have been super sweet and kind this year, can I please have four???
Thanks Santa, you always know how to give me the perfect gift!!

Thankful Thanksgiving Count Down: Day 4
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....all through out my house....
Today I spent most of my time between working on my dining room table and decorating my house for Christmas (yes, I realize that I am majorly multi-tasking). I know Thanksgiving has not even arrived yet, but I was so busy this Fall/Halloween that I totally missed decorating. And I LOVE decorating for fall. So I was determined to get my Christmas decorations up so I could have time to enjoy them.
I am so thankful for the holidays. Want to know one of the reasons why? I like the holidays because they bring change. And I am so thankful for change. Change keeps life interesting. Change brings new experiences and kind brightens things up (if you will). We put away the pumpkin and bring out the gingerbread. The spiders and cobwebs come down and the trees with bright lights go up. The fall leaves lightly float away and the snow generously covers the branches.
The holidays bring a new perspective. Whether its to your home, to your spirit, or to your waistline...holidays are a blessing and I am thankful!

Thankful Thanksgiving Count Down: Day 3
Right now as I write this I am sitting in a warm house, wrapped in my favorite cozy blanket, drinking a warm cup of Candy Cane Lane tea. I am safe and secure without a worry. For this, I am thankful.
I know (too often) I take for granted my home. I forget that some people don't know where they will sleep at night. And there are people you live in communities that are dangerous and unsafe. Even when they are in their homes, they're scared. There are parents with children living out of their cars....yep, I take my home for granted all the time.
Let me not forget to be thankful for my home. A warm roof over my head and a safe place for my family, for I am indeed thankful...

Quiet moments....how I am thankful for thee. Those little uninterupted times. A moment when you can relaxe, unwind and just breathe. I find that as life goes on, I have less and less of these quiet moments.
Life can be so loud sometimes that we can't even hear our own thoughts. We do hear our kids
So that's why I am so thankful when those moments sneak into my day. A warm cup of tea, a car ride by myself, a snowy winter day. Treasures....those wonderful quiet moments...

Thankful Thanksgiving Count Down: Day 1
I have so much to be thankful for that I decided to do a Thankful Thanksgiving Countdown. So everyday from today until Thanksgiving I will be sharing with you seven things that I am extremely thankful for.
Today, I want to say that I am so thankful for all you-my faithful readers. I started this site almost 2 years ago and it has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. Not only have I made new friends but I have also been challenged to stay focused on the positives of life so that I might be somewhat inspiring to you (I hope). Which in turn, has been a huge blessing to my own life.
Inspiration For Moms has also inspired me to set goals and focus on achieving them! One of the goals I made for 2010 was that I wanted to have 500 readers by the end of the year. When I made this goal, I only had 6 readers! As of right now...I have a grand total of 406 amazing, wonderful, awesome facebook fans, tweeters, and email subscribers!!
Thank you, each and every one of you, for taking the time to stop by and see what I have to share. I hope that Inspiration For Moms has inspired you in some way and I am so grateful for your friendship. You all inspire me every single day!!

A Snowy Pancake Morning....
While on vacation at my mother's, this morning, my sister and I woke up to a beautiful covering of snow....
We both grabbed our cameras and jumped at the chance to take pictures of our new winter wonderland! The first snow of the season is always so exciting! I then sugggested some warm oatmeal to start our day and then my sister said, "I have a better idea....pancakes!"
I have to admit it sis, you were right! There's nothing better than a snowy pancake breakfast!
On this Thankful Thursday, I was blessed with beautiful morning scenary, a yummy-to-my-tummy breakfast, and a very cheerful sister! Life is good.....

As I have mentioned earlier, I am out of town this week. So I didn't do my regular shopping. I did stop into Sprouts before I left town to grab some of the bulk food items that were 25% off and a few other items. So, I will share that trip with ya!
Sprouts total spent was $31.83. I purchased 5 greek yogurts, cheese, 2 pkg vans waffles, 2 family pkgs of chicken breasts, bulk cranberries, whey protein, and yogurt pretzels.
