Fall decorating ideas can be as complex or simple as you want. See how a few colorful mums and pumpkins turned this boring front porch into a classic fall look!
We have been living at this home for over six years now. And this is the first time I’ve ever decorated the front porch in classic warm colors. That’s the beauty of fall decorating ideas, they can change from year to year. And I have to say, I think the warm fall colors was a beautiful change!
Classically Fall Decor
If you’ve been a long time reader of mine, you know my go to colors are usually black and white. This past fall porch decor is classic me. And even still to this day, I want to recreate this exact look again I love it so much. I know – that’s crazy and so not inspiring!
So I reached down deep and pushed myself to go outside my normal decorating style. After all, since our home does have some gray-bluish paint color on the exterior and warmer orange colors are opposite on the color wheel, they’d probably compliment right? I was thinking of risking it. 🙂
And then, when I stumbled upon this fall eucalyptus wreath a couple weeks ago, the decision was made. Warmer colors for the win!
Fall Layered Rugs
You know I love a good layered rug combo, so one of the new items for the fall front porch besides the wreath was this ‘cozy up’ doormat. I love it – I do! It looks so goof with the black and white striped rug.
But here’s the thing, I found another doormat that I think goes just as great with my warm fall decorating. Autumn leaves and pumpkins please. How adorable is this?! So I had to lay them both out and feature them for you. Which one do you like better? I can’t decide!

Fall Pumpkin Collection
The pumpkins on the front step were gathered from everywhere. Some are from Trader Joe’s, the grocery stores and some came from my basement! That’s right, I tucked in a few faux ones as well. Why not right? Keeps the cost down and no one will ever know. Well – I guess – except for you!
Front Porch Sources: striped rug | cozy doormat | leaves doormat | baskets | white planters | faux cane planters | wreath | lanterns (similar) | throw | textured loop pillow | black pillow | chair (similar) |
So I hope you enjoyed this years fall decorating ideas displayed on our porch. I kept it pretty simple, but I love how the whole look came together – warm colors – and all!
Don’t forget to PIN this for reference later and to share with others! I love when you share. 🙂
