You may have noticed lately, that I have been very selective in the coupons that I post. The reason being is that I care about my family and yours! Let me explain…
For the past few months, I have been watching other coupon bloggers post every coupon they can find, no matter what the product is or how it might affect your health. Some may say, that they are just gathering up the information and passing it along for you to have the final say. Which is fine, but it’s not for me.. I have decided that I want to be more careful about what I feed myself, my family and what I pass on to you. My family and I generally eat pretty well, with lots of vegetables and fruits with lean meats. But, what I really want to focus on and change is to stop eating things like high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, trans. fats and partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.
When I see great coupns for not so “great” food items, I just can’t bring myself to post them. I feel by doing so that I am encouraging you to eat junk and chemicals that are so bad for your body. Granted, I know you are an adult and that you can make wise choices all on your own. You don’t need me to be your food police. But, for me and my family and this site, I want to promote a health life style by eating food that is in its most purest form.
Now, I will be the first to admit that this transition will not be easy. For example, high fructose corn syrup is in EVERYTHING!! You will be amazed once you start looking! I am just trying to make this a day-by-day process in the right direction. One step at a time and one food item at a time.
So when I do post coupons, they will be for products that I can endorse and that I would eat myself. I also thought that you might like me to share information on how to start cleaning your home of unhealthy foods. So….
Starting in the month of July, each week I will focus on a topic towards eating healthier. Whether it be elimating something from your diet or adding something to it. Every postive change is a move in the right direction.
How do you feel about this change? Please share your thoughts in the comments. I would love to hear from you!
